The Nielsen's - Late Summer

Summer haircut

Will goes to a preschool a few hours a week.  This was
his photo for the bulletin board!  He digs equipment.

Daddy's birthday family photo!

Ruth's 1st birthday was in early Oct.

She really poked at the cake - eventually it was destroyed.

A big '1' on the house..

Mid October we headed to Council Bluffs and stayed with family.

The next day we headed to the Omaha zoo.  It was another beautiful day!

November - Back on the Horse

The weather has been spendid. A boy's gotta dig.

Mr. W turned 3 on Nov 6th!

Three years talk a lot and with emotion.

Miss. R is on the move now.  Lock those doors.

Daddy likes this picture.

And this one.

We had some snow.  And some beautiful foliage.

Lots of good eats!  It explains all the growing!

August

Ruth is 10 months.
She likes to wave, eat watermelon and to swing.  She is not crawling yet but can get to where she needs to go.  She can say 'mama'
I caught this moment one morning before breakfast.  They adore each other.  Today as we were eating at Subway Will fed Ruth part of his sandwich.  He can pretty well eat the rest of a 6" sub...
Will and I spend as much time outdoors as possible during Ruth's naps.  We recently got a sandbox and that can keep him entertained for a while.  He is really into scoops, bulldozers, dump trucks and anything else construction site related.  He often pretends he is scoop and digs with his hands.  It is very hard to keep his fingernails clean, if you had not noticed already.

I found a new photo spot in the house, in our front entry.  Ruth was intrigued with the light fixture and was usually looking up.

Hair, camera, food?  Hard to tell what she is reaching for, but probably one of those things.
You can see 2 teeth, but there are 6 more in there somewhere!

Cute Ruthy Scottaboochy!  She's got a nickname...

More 'adoring' each other!

Ruth loves standing.  As you can see our couch cushions are off, probably in Will's room.  He loves making tents.  That is one of his past times during his quiet time.

Hey I got both kids in the picture, and part of Josh!

Ruth loves baths.  As soon as I start the water she is squirming in my arms to get in.  She likes to splash with her legs and does not mind if her face or head gets wet.  Lots of double tub(le)!

May

Ruth is 7 months.  She is such a joy and so sweet, this is my favorite baby age.  She is showing off her bottom teeth in this picture.  Not pictured are her two top teeth.  They are still just peeking through, but we are glad they have showed up.  Now she may sleep more through the night!  Ruth is sitting well and rolls from front to back.  She is squirmy on the floor but it may be a while before crawling.  She loves standing and dancing with her arms (so adorable).

I love sitting outside with Ruth it is so simple and peaceful, although it may last only 15 min. before she wants to move on.

Will is a wonderful brother to Ruth.  Like I have said before he is so gentle with her.  Today they shared a laundry basket.  He sat cross legged and pat the space beside him and said 'here's a nice seat Ruth'.  Then they 'rode' in a boat and fished (they caught a lot of laundry fish).  Will still lets Ruth pull his hair and poke at his face and eyes.

Will is 2 1/2 this month.  Although he may seem not to be eves dropping, he picks up on every word you say and may repeat a random line.  He loves to color with markers and has mailed several pictures to friends and relatives.  We often walk to our neighborhood park and have a picnic.  Will is pretty laid back and around other kids he loves observing - we don't know where he got these traits.  :)

We picked some violets one morning during Ruth's nap and put them in a small vase.  In this picture I was doing everything I could to get Will to look at the camera, that stinker:)

Ruth likes digging in the sand along with Will.

I think Ruth and Will look similar in these two pictures. (above and below)

Within this past month Will is beginning look more like a little boy than a baby/toddler to me.  It is hard to remember him even at Ruth's age.  That is why I keep snapping all these pictures otherwise I forget!

His latest word he adds to the end of every sentence is 'probably'.  His sentences do not always make sense but it is cute.

Love this picture.  Will asked to have Ruth sit next to him.  Ruth is wearing a dress I made from a t-shirt.  I have made a couple more, each one is a little different shape, still trying to get the fit right.  These dresses are super easy to make and a fun hobby for me.  I like picking out the fabric/t-shirt and breaking out my sewing machine.
